The Final Word game review

If I were to sum up Yoshi's Island in one word, that word would be "wacky". I have never seen graphics like this before -- though not as slick as Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi's Island's graphics have much more personality. YI is packed with awesome special effects like when Yoshi touches a "Fuzzy" and gets "dizzy" (the whole screen contorts and rolls like a wave and the background messes up while Yoshi stumbles around like he's on a bad trip). Yoshi, along with Mario, has learned some new tricks since Super Mario World. Yoshi can now throw eggs and morph into many different vehicles like a mole digger and a helicopter. Also, Baby Mario can run on the ceiling when he gets stars. I like this game a lot as it is another unique and high quality Nintendo game. The only complaint I have, and this is a minor one, is that sometimes it almost seems like there is too much to do on each level. YI is a very slick package that feels a lot like Super Mario World but with a sprinkle of Super Metroid thrown into the mix. A unique combination.
