Super Empire Strikes Back -- Lucas Arts

Based scene for scene on the motion picture, Super Empire Strikes Back takes players to the far reaches of space as the rebel alliance attempts to defend itself against the evil galactic empire. Side scrolling action scenes are combined with Mode 7 aerial combat in this intense new title for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

I will admit that I thought that there was no way that any game could match the original, but Lucas Arts comes through once again with this excellent sequel. There are many new scenes and backgrounds, and the excellent play control was maintained. There are very few games of this caliber available, so this is not one to let slip by. Hard to say much else, the game is just simply incredible. Well worth the price sticker...

Super Empire Strikes Back is an excellent sequel to Super Star Wars. The graphics are great and the flying scenes are very well done. The music is straight from the movie. The gameplay is better than the first game, but could have been better. This game will definitely take a long time to finish but it is well worth it. If you like Super Star Wars, then this is a must have.

Cool! The game follows the movie well, and has an excellent sound-track. One of the most intense SNES games I've played. I particularly like the level where you have to take out the ATATs... Sharp! Note, it helps to have seen the movie before playing the game (like anyone hasn't seen it?). Play control is right on the money; in fact I think it's some of the most realistic and precise control I've seen in any game. It takes a bit to get used to though. A must see.

Super Empire Strikes Back is an all-around excellent title. Every aspect from graphics to gameplay is highly detailed and nearly perfect. While this title can be very challenging, it is well worth it. Every bit as good as the first.
