 The Final Word game review

Space Megaforce -- Toho Co., Ltd.

Blast your way through strange orbing, waving spiraling and scaling worlds in this fast paced forward scrolling shooter for the SNES. A wide variety of deadly weapons are available to aid you in battle, such as lasers and homing missiles. Players can choose from a variety of difficulty levels, and control their ship's speed and weapon configuration during play. Conquer vile alien scum in Space Megaforce, presented by Toho.

Ferrari Man
An excellent example of a good horizontal shooter. I really didn't think the SNES had it in it. FAST, FAST, FAST. No slowdown. I was impressed that where big name companies failed, a little known one succeeded. Awesome Mode 7, and some weird pulsating screens. Good job.

It's a good solid shooter. But there's nothing new in the line of overhead shooters. The graphics are nice and some of the backgrounds are pretty neat to watch as they swirl around and move at high speeds. I don't like how you can run directly into a wall or gate and not sustain any damage. The music isn't too bad. No doubt the best shooter for the SNES.

R.I.P.
This game wins my vote for best forward scrolling shooter of the year. Non-stop, high-speed, and at times overwhelming on-screen action make this game an easy favorite. If you're a SNES owner who has been waiting for a fast shooter with no slowdown (period!), then this one is a must have. Also this game has jammin' tunes all throughout. An added bonus is five levels of play difficulty plus an extra "short game" which is down right mean. Check it out.

Salamander
Wow! I almost didn't realize Space Megaforce was on the SNES the first time I played it. With NO SLOWDOWN and actually FAST action, it really impressed me. While the play was similar to many other shooters I've played on other systems, the addition of Mode 7 effects in the graphics helped to set it apart.
