An excellent RPG from an unexpected source, it's about time that Capcom shows it can do more than action and fighting games. The graphics are colorful, but the character detail and animation is what really shines. The battle animations are nice and fluid for the characters and the enemies. The music and sound effects are really the only thing that needs work. There are some good tunes and then there are some annoying ones, but you have the option of turning the music off if you ever feel the need. The game controls are very easy to use and are pretty standard. You are able to choose a formation in which you want your characters to stand, in case you want to protect your weaker magic users. This game, without a doubt will take you quite awhile to complete. The story is very engrossing and is full of sub-plots and mini-quests. There are plenty of things that I left undone when I solved it. Overall an excellent RPG by Capcom that shouldn't be missed.

Breath of Fire II is another entry into the sparse RPG category. Capcom wised up and actually released this one themselves. With strong games like this and Resident Evil, Capcom is beginning their second ascent to greatness. Breath of Fire II is innovative and excellent in a category that really needs help.
