The Final Word game review
Virtua Fighter for the Sega Saturn features eight polygon warriors straight from the arcade. Battle as Sarah, Kage, Lau, Wolf or your favorite in this 3-D fighting classic. A new ranking mode lets you see how you compare against your friends.
Ferrari Man
Perhaps as close an arcade translation as anyone could ask for. However, the arcade game is getting pretty crusty. If you are not already burnt out on VF then this is a must have. If, however, you are like me and are more interested in games like Virtua Fighter 2, and Tekken - save your money.
E.Phoenix
I never liked playing this game too much in the arcade and the home version is just the same minus the joystick. The moves are not very easy to pull off and not very interesting when you do. I applaud Sega for making a fighter without fireballs and other magical moves, but if fun is what you are looking for then don't expect it from VF, Toh Shin Din slaughters it.
R.I.P.
This game is exactly like the arcade version... I didn't like the arcade game, and I still don't like the home version. Graphics are sharp, but really don't do much for me. As well, the play-control is ok, but I really can't seem to get into the game. If you like the original, you should like the home version... Though, I think Sega would have done better to go with something more impressive as its initial Saturn pack-in offering.
Salamander
An excellent translation, but a little dated by today's standards. Personally, I'm looking for more moves, more levels, and texture mapping. Call me again when Virtua Fighter 2 arrives.
