The Final Word game review
The helicopter gunship from hell has just been unleashed. Guess who the pilot is? USGold's Thunderstrike 2 for the Sega Saturn, takes helicopter combat action to the extreme. 26 missions await you, including day and night assaults using a wide range of weapons. Your only option is to win.

Rock and Roll! Core produced a sequel to it's most awesome Sega CD game Thunderstrike. Gone are the flat, scaling sprites and in are cool new polygon graphics. They still suffer from the usual Saturn problems (read: pop-up) but overall are very good. Sound effects are cool as well and an excellent soundtrack puts you in the mood for some carnage. What Core didn't change was the excellent shooter gameplay, as opposed to trying to add sim elements. I'm glad they didn't and you will be too.
R.I.P.
Rots'a fun to be had with this title. Personally no matter which platform you grab this game for (PS or Saturn), if you like games were you get to blow everything to hell, then this is the game to pick. I still think Wing Arms holds the prize for most unrealistic Saturn based flight sim, but this comes a close second... You seem to be able to hit the ground with no adverse effect, but watch out for those trees, since just like in the Sega CD predecessor they pack a real wallop on your life bar. Additionally I thought the general weapon selection wasn't to hot, but that's life I suppose. The music is good to get into a groove with and the graphics are pretty decent, although pop-up and poly drops occur somewhat frequently. All in all this is a great sequel, and a fun time killer that I recommend for rental.
