The Final Word game review
R.I.P.
Ah, one of my favorite Crystal Dynamics games of all time, and let's admit it... this is Kirk Cameron's best acting job ever.
Unfortunately... for as much as I enjoyed the 3DO version of this game, the Saturn release was terrible. The only reasons I picked up this version at all were first... to complete my set of Crystal Dynamics games on Saturn, and second... I had some sad delusion that it might not have the slowdown problems inherent in the 3DO release (granted it was my manipulation of the slowdown in the 3DO release combined with the awesome cow-knight grid trick that helped me solve the game).
Graphically it's about the same as the 3DO release, but slower if you can believe it. ...and everything else? Well it was ok, the game was pretty much the same except everything was so much slower. It was so bad that I lost my patience pretty quickly with the game.
Bottom line, this release is totally unplayable on the Saturn. The only 3DO to Saturn conversion that is worse than this is Star Fighter. Move along there's nothing to see here.
