The Final Word game review
Someone has stolen "The Relic" away from the hands of The Chosen Ones and eight fighters set out on the quest to find the missing artifact. Combat is fierce with each character having multiple levels of skills at their disposal for fighting. Criticom is a new 3-D fighting game from Vic Tokai for the PlayStation.

Hmmm... I think I have played this before. Criticom contains fantastic cinemas and an interesting story line, however it just borrows too much from Tohshinden to be considered at all original. I found the difficulty to be set pretty high, which detracted somewhat from the game: I don't think you should have to master the special moves to win your first battle. Except for the cinemas Criticom was nothing special.

Oooh... Ouch... bleck... this game looks like it took the Tohshiden engine, changed the texture maps on everything and then tried to dress it up more by adding phenomenal cinemas! ...and speaking of cinemas, you have absolutely got to see the cinemas in this game, they're gorgeous. Play control is really plain, and in order for you to really do very well in the game you have to figure out all of the deluxe combat moves. Otherwise you don't do jack for damage and you can never win a round. Basically put, the learning curve on this game is WAY to high in my opinion. I would say, rent this one for one night, check out the cinemas, and then go buy Tekken or Tohshinden if you don't already have them.
