The Final Word game review
R.I.P.
I've loved playing the Metal Slug series on the Neo*Geo over the years, and now I'm happy to say that my appreciation carries over to this latest release in the series as well. Solid gameplay, and excellent graphics make this game fun to play, and keeps me coming back for more. My only complaint is the use of continues and how they effect the longterm playability of a game, which as many of you know is a major pet-peeve of mine. I was really amazed at how good the game looked and the fact that I was able to pick up the game and become immersed in play immediately.
Not to get stuck just on looks, the sound in the game is really good as well, even when using headphones. I was impressed with this system from the day I saw it, and with additions of games like Metal Slug: 1st Mission to its line-up, I can't see how any serious gamer can do without the system. If you want my opinion (and I imagine you do since you're reading this review), this game is a must have for any NGPC library.
