Zillion is a side-scrolling action/adventure game that pits your team of infiltrators against an evil empress and her complex fortress including her super computer that controls the facility. Your character, J.J., begins the game above ground; you must guide him through the fortress to find his captured teammates Champ and Apple. The object of the game is to find the five disks that will allow you to access the main super computer and enter a self desruct sequence that will destroy the fortress. Each room in the fortress contains a computer that must be used to open the door leading to the next room; barrels in the room contain the code that must be entered in the computer to proceed. You may change to your teammates when you find them as each has slightly different attributes that are needed to get special objects or move to different areas (ie: Apple can jump higher and Champ has a completely powered up laser). Graphically, this game is outstanding as are most Master System games. Soundwise, Zillion has many cool tunes and wonderful sound effects. Zillion is an excellent game that requires loads of technique and many hours to complete. Opa-Opa of the Fanstasy Zone series also makes some appearences throughout the game as a power-up icon and at the continue screen.
