The Final Word game review
R.I.P.
A great game that's to short, is just that... to short. We slammed through all of the stages in this game over a weekend... Even with that said, the game is still fun, and if you pick it up now at the end of the life of the Dreamcast, you can usually find it for $5 new.
Chu Chu Rocket is a unique puzzle game in both concept and visual stylings. The premise is that you have to rescue a bunch of space mice from the evil space cats who want to eat them, by getting them all boarded onto their rocket ships. The mice and cats all traverse the play area/game board in fixed patterns which can only be redirected by you placing traffic control arrows on the board which tell the mice/cats to go in a specific direction. The only down side of the game was that it was pretty easy to stomp through. Sure there is multi-player support, but it didn't add much longevity to the title. The on-line support amounted to nothing more than a novelty as well.
Oh, don't get me wrong. It is fun to play through once, and good to have on the shelf as a conversation piece to throw in from time to time. But other than being unique, there isn't much else to say about it. Oh... yeah, the theme music is pretty darn catchy.
