D -- Warp

Gruesom murders are occuring in Los Angeles. The culpret is a well know doctor who has gone on a rampage in his hospital. You play the part of his daughter, trying to find out what has happened. Full screen animated cinemas and challenging puzzles await you in D from Warp for play on the 3DO.

D is a really gruesome (cool) interactive movie full of mood and sometimes semi-tough puzzles. I still can't believe it got a "teen" rating. Fun to play through once, but not something I'll play over and over.

R.I.P.
First off, this is pretty much a one play through game... maybe two plays through. Just like most other games in this classification (ie: 7th Guest, Myst, etc...), the challenge of this game is solving all of the puzzles before you run out of time. Unfortunately the puzzles in this game are not very challenging at all. The good thing is though, that the cinemas and all of the animated sequences in this game are so nice that it's well worth the time to sit through and solve. Even the overall mood of the game is really good, giving you the feel of watching a suspenseful, horror film. It's a tough call on play control in this game though... true, you can easily do anything that you need to do, but your characters movement in the game is entirely on rails. This in turn prevents you from really exploring the environment to its fullest. It's a tough call as to whether or not to say rent of buy on this one. Personally, if you can rent it, do that first, although if you're looking for a good showpiece title for graphics, this is it. Oh yeah, this is NOT a kids game. I recommend mature gamers only.
