The Final Word game review
One or two-players simultaneous can take on the challenge of Captain Quasar for the 3DO. Big guns, big muscles and big trouble await, as you explore the 10 levels of three crime-infested planets in the name of justice -- presented by Studio 3DO.

Captain Quasar is an comical one-man-army blaster that utilizes a 3/4 overhead perspective. Captain Quasar features impressive claymation-style FMV sequences coupled with hilarious in-game situations. The graphics are fast and the sound is, well, interesting. Actually, the music gets really old really fast, and the 'ho, ho, ho' CQ spouts every three seconds will drive you insane. CQ just gets, to put it mildly, extremely boring after about fifteen minutes. Also, there is a hilarious subliminal message in one of the FMV sequences (must...buy...battlesport!).
R.I.P.
Right off, the first thing I recognised in this game was that the animation and character design was handled by the guys that used to do those raisin commercials from years ago. This alone made the game entertaining to watch. As for playing the game, there's one word that pops right to mind... "fun". I really thought this was a good game. Playcontrol was pretty good, although sometimes I found it hard to get my guy lined up with a target. Graphics were great, and I really enjoyed the whole cartoony atmosphere of the title. Sound was pretty good, although I could have done without the "yee-haws". If you own a 3Do, you owe it to yourself to check out this game. I for one consider it a classic, and hope that 3DO seriously persues the idea of making Quasar a mascot of some sort.
