Be careful to avoid such pitfalls as plaque, tartar, dental caries, gingivitis, periodontis, halitosis or even chapped lips. Helpful tips will give you clues about the care your teeth need. Be attentive and think sharp, otherwise you'll end up with a mouth full of fillings.

Water - Drink eight glasses a day to stay healthy. Water not only prevents chapped lips and bad breath, it also aids digestion and contains fluoride, a mineral helpful in preventing tooth decay.
Toothbrush - Brush your teeth twice daily and after each meal to keep your teeth free of plaque, tartar and to prevent gum disease. Toothpaste also contains fluoride.
Floss - Brushing alone isn't enough. You have to remember to floss, too.
Fluorigated Rinse - This rinse adds fluoride to your teeth and keeps your breath minty-fresh. Don't forget, however, that since mouthwash only masks bad breath you have to get rid of the source first or the bad breath won't go away.
Dentist - Visit your dentist twice a year for checkups, cleanings and preventative maintenance. If you do happen to neglect your teeth (you wouldn't actually do that - would you?!?) the dentist can also fix a variety of problems.
Fruits and Vegetables - Eat three to five servings a day to get the nutrition you need. Babies can't eat most foods until they have teeth.
Breads and Cereals - Munch on six to eleven servings a day to get energy to grow.
Meats, Poultry, Fish, Nuts and Beans - These foods are an important source of protein. Eat two to three servings of these daily.
Dairy - Dairy products are an important source of calcium, essential for strong teeth and bones. Eat two to three servings each day.
Sweets and Treats - These sugary goodies are okay in moderation, but watch out! Bacteria love the sugars these guys leave behind, and the acid the bacteria make will rot your teeth quickly.
